Eco Wave Power (PortXL ’19) advances Taiwan expansion as partner signs land lease for Suao Port wave energy project, and in Los Angeles marks the successful completion of their wave energy pilot with Shell, started in 2024. For further reading, see Source1 & Source2.
GT Wings (PortXL ’23) has been contracted by Grieg Maritime Group to install its AirWing™ system on one of its vessels, with options to expand across the fleet. The deal covers at least two AirWing™20 units to be fitted on the open hatch vessel Star Kirkenes, marking the first commercial order for the UK-based technology developer. The units — described as Jet Sails — will be installed on the vessel’s forecastle during a scheduled drydocking in late 2026 or early 2027. See Source3.

Mythos AI (PortXL ’23)’s self-driving vessel autonomy platform, MNAV, is well on its way with a clear goal: establish the gold standard for maritime autonomy. MNAV is now available through their OEM and shipyard partners for crewed, optionally crewed, and uncrewed vessels ranging from 18 to 190 feet. Collectively, MNAV is on track to be in the hands of nearly every U.S. service that operates vessels, executing varying missions on multiple continents within the next 6-12 months. See Source8.

AKROS Energy (PortXL ’24) formally inaugurated its pilot plant for the chemical storage of hydrogen in salt at the H2APEX site in Laage, near the Baltic port of Rostock. The ceremony — attended by industry partners Evonik and Siemens alongside the partners of the publicly co-funded FormaPort R&D project — marks the company’s transition from technology development into the market entry phase.
